Abstract Flowers

I've had this large canvas sitting in my storage room for several years now.  I finally decided to get it out and play with some colors.

I had a lot of fun!  And I think it turned out pretty good.  It's for Ali's room.

*I took a 12-week art class last semester, so I will eventually post what I painted in class on here too.

Go Dogs, Go!

Two of my boys needed new art for their room, so I whipped these up over a 2-week period.

Hedgehog

Rabbit

Mouse

Tiger

Panda

Elephant

Fox

Dog

I think they turned out pretty fun!

Circus Garden

We painted our playroom from yellow to aqua so I made some new "Cirque du Soleil" paintings on canvases.

Now that we've moved these are now in my girls' room.

Their room has always been a variation of a garden.

So here's some bright flowers that have bloomed!

High 5!

For years I wanted to make some art with hand prints of our family.
I finally did it!

Since hands also make "high-5s" I made a sign with
our 5 goals for happiness:
1. Higher Education
(we hope all of our kids go to college)
2. Serve Mission
(we hope all of our kids serve a mission for our church)
3. Temple Marriage
(we hope all of our children find awesome people to marry
in the temple for eternity)
4. Career Path
(we hope our children will have successful careers
to support their families)
5. Sweet Children
(we hope each of our children have children of their own)

JOY

Last Christmas I paint this "JOY to the world" to go above our fireplace and cover our TV.  I'm so excited that this Christmas there will be 8 stockings hanging under it!

Polka Dot Safari

I painted my first mural for my friend's basement playroom.

Mr. Tiger,

Mr. Elephant,

Mr. Monkey,

and Mr. Giraffe are the best of friends.

I think it turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself!

Birthday Backgrounds

It all started with decorations for our YW's New Beginnings. My husband drew this castle for me, then I painted it. When the event was over I didn't want to stick the poster in recycling so I decided to reuse it as decoration for my daughter's birthday.

Of course, she has a twin brother, so we did this pirate ship for him.

Middle brother got to monkey around for his birthday.

Little brother had a barnyard dance for his.

It was fun to make special little birthday "banners" to help my kids celebrate their special days!

My favorite flower

This is the first canvas I've done, and it's a big one (3' x 4'). I'd love to do more!

Cirque du Soleil

Since our playroom is in the basement and there's not a lot of natural light, I wanted lots of bright colors to make it fresh and lively.

Mardi Gras Cake.

Bubble Gum Ice Cream.

I love these chunky shelves from IKEA.

Orange, purple, and yellow.
